I always run into the problem that my paintings get this "muddy" look. Any sugestions how to get rid of it? maybe by using some special custom brushes? evt. post brush presets? :)

stop drawing wet riverbanks then...,, maybe apply a waterhose and wash the mud off?... kinda hard to make suggestions based on a sentence... post some examples and I will try to offer more pointed suggestions :)

Play with the levels and colour balance feature.
