View Full Version : single frames( how to play them in sequence and render an avi)?)
benjii19 08-26-2003, 01:18 AM Ive rendered out an animation in single frame jpgs, how can i get them to play without running to uni and using there perception card and why does premiere make single frames so long rather than just play them in sequence at 25fps. Hope I made sense. Cheers

I'm not familiar enough with Premeir eto tell you the settings but I'm sure you can adjust how it imports image sequences.
Otherwise you could get Quicktime Pro and it is real easy to iport frame sequences at 25 fps

just check image sequences in the bottom of the dialogue box when you chose files to import wich should be in single folder.
just click on the first image (i.e myimage.0000.jpg)

As I can't afford to get any of those fancy vid editing apps,
I generally use virtuadub (http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/)to render frames to avi.
Just open the first image in the sequence, set vid compression options,
and then save as avi (F7).
I wouldn't render jpgs tho...they're all messed up,
so getting good xvid/divx compression with'em is hard.
I generally render out tga files,as vdub reads them nicely.
It also reads bmp files.
Vdub is also good for cutting/joining avi files and muxing audio and video,
and best of all,it's free :)

cheers for ur help guys, its gonna be a pain rendering my whole thing out as targa files. Ive actually got an avi version but its a little large I KNOW DIVX CAN GET IT DOWN TO 10MB oops caps lock, but the sound seems to mess up and I'm not sure how to get the right setting so that the audio and video match up. ANy ideas?

Well, having no idea how your sound source is, you might be able to fix it in vdub.
When you open the rendered frames and the sound, you set the compression and whatnot independantly.
You can also set up audio offset and whatnot if you need to.
There is a pretty good doc over at doom9.org for vdub procedures,
called virtualdub procedures (http://doom9.org/index.html?/virtualdub_procedures.htm) :)
As far as I can remember it has bits on saving out parts of a movie,
cutting vid sequenses together, and fixing asynch audio.
Oh,and if the audio is already in an avi file you can use vdub to save it out seperately,
by just going Audio-->Direct Stream Copy, and then File-->Save wav.
Then you can do the same for the video, setting the vid options to direct stream copy,
and the audio settings to no audio, and then mux them together again, and offset the audio or whatever you need to do.
Anyways,good luck!
And remember,VirtualDub is your friend! :)
