squidinc 08-25-2003, 10:53 PM been messing with this for a few hours this evening, I was trying to make a decent window texture with SLA, I think it turned out pretty good, the model is a very simple oil tank object with loads of extruded stuctures, the photo background is my backyard as it was getting dark :)

This is awesome, squid. Any chance we could see the ship without all the noise and light? I'd like to get a good look at it. -- 3d_e

here it is, I just subdivided a few areas and extruded random faces to get the structures

That is absolutly amazing:eek:
Your work is a real inspiration.
My only crit (not that I'm worthy to crit ;) ) is that the light from the ship isn't illuminating the trees when it looks like it should, but that's nothing that can't be fixed with a little PS work.

awesome  and the foggy ambiance adds a lot to the scene.
how many lights here ? :)
squidinc

a lot :)
but most of them are in array objects, there a quite a lot placed manually as well, i.e. all of the ones placed on the ends of the structures
all together must be a hundred and something, only took a a couple of minutes to render even with all the visible light, c4d rocks :D
Great job SquidInc! I can practically feel the probe...no! Not again! (wakes up 3 hours later)
