Use Resource Hacker or Restorator to edit the maya.exe. Just do a search on download.com. Don't forget to do a backup before hand. :)

actually its not maya.exe its mayares.dll and you can find it in the same folder just hidden in unlike maya. Then you got to find the image in there which is under bitmap folder then after that its under mayastartupimage

Did you get that to work? I didn't know you could do that. I never thought much about it. But i do hate the new Maya start up image. I wonder who at AW thought of that.

Let me know cus i would like to change mine too.

yes it does work i have done it on 6 different computers for my class its easy as long as you make the file bmp

Nice trick, but having trouble locating. What version of maya was this on? (Im looking for a location in 4. aws?)
