CGTalk - Rendering PaintFX

I did a scene .. a snowman...I'm trying to give a proper snow effect for the scene. I tried snow from the Paint Effects. I'm adding the snow, but can't render it ? i can see the scene but can't see snows ( particles ) ? anyone knows why ?
And what is the best way to create an excellent snowing for the scene ?

By the way, i can render Rain..snow is still no no...
