View Full Version : Frame Rate?
paul k. 08-25-2003, 07:35 PM Ok, I was working in MB4 and noticed it looked a little bit off, I checked the frame rate and shockingly I was only getting between 18 and 22fps? I thought the whole advantage to Motion Builder is there philosophy of "What you see is what you get!"?? I have only a stick figure like character with little detail on a standard characterized rig? After thinking about it for a while I was wondering, How would it maintain frame rate, Does it Drop Frames? Does it cache previous tests? Any help that could be provided would be very much appreciated. Oh and I am running a single 2.4GHZ, with an Nvidia Ge Force 4 Quadro 750XGL and a Gig of Ram.
Thanks in Advance
PK.

If you say you are only running a basic character setup than it should fly, especially since you have Ge Force 4 Quadro 750XGL.
I'm always playing my characters fully textured up and have no problems with my frame rate and the machines I use are way weaker than yours.
I suggest you mail the Kaydara discussion board to see what the kaydara guys suggest, I reckon it's to do with your graphic drivers but I've got no idea about that kind of stuff.
The only time I suffer from bad frame Rate issues is when I'm using Timewarp on my characters or if I have loads of F-curves displayed in my f-curves editor but checking the Selective Redraw eliminates this problem for me as it stops drawing the Time Slider.
