I'm thinking about buying a new SLR, preferably one with HD video. Perhaps the 7D or the D300s. Both of these cameras have HDMI video out, I think.

Is it possible to capture uncompressed video from one of these SLRs via the HDMI to a capture board on a laptop? I have read that this is possible with a pro-sumer HD camcorder.

If possible, what laptop and which capture board? Could I do this with an Apple?

It's not really possible right now, but there are third party firmware hackers who are working on it:
