So I was modeling away yesterday night, and suddenly C4D starts slowing down to a crawl. No matter what I did, I couldn't get Gouraud shading, not even quick shading... Only wireframe.

Hm... switched views back and forth, and sometimes the shading came back to me, sometimes not. And this on a 3000 poly mesh :D I check the taskmanager, and it reveals that C4D uses 98% processor time, even when I'm just sitting there doing nothing...

After a while I decide to save and restart Cinema. It comes back on and I load my file. Now I'm still in the default layout, so I suddenly notice that the animation frame slider is rolling around and around... :D Apparently I had hit F8 at some point, to start animation playback, but since my own modeling layout doesn't have the frameslider gadget, I didn't see that... lol... awww...

I always try to be a pioneer of sorts :D

Yeah, sleep doesn't hurt. But how on earth should I get my models done while snoozing away in bed? C4D definitely needs one of those nifty wet-wired brain implant style interfaces to facilitate modeling in your sleep.

Thank you, bobtronic!

Ahem... first of all, I'd like to thank my mom and dad, without whom I would not be standing here before you today. And of course the Academy, and all of those who voted for me.

Thank you!

Now that's a wet dream I've never heard of before. :)

Actually, I wish there was a play mode that would stop when any key is hit. This is the way Avid and After Effects work, and I'm always forgetting to stop it in Cinema. 98% of the time I don't want it to keep going after I've hit a key. For the 2% of the time I do, it would be better to have it as an option.

actually this is a very good point, most apps do stop when a key is hit, now I think I"d want a little more flexibility then that, because it is nice to rotate around as an animation is playing, but if you select an object or tool it should stop for sure.
