I'm trying to create a silver plastic material that looks smooth to the eye but has grainy reflections. It also seems to have silvery flecks in it (like metallic car paint).

Here's a good shot

I am working in Maya, so far I have tried mapping a fine granite texture to the bump and then the specular colour but am not sure Im getting the right effect. What is the best way to do this?

Also what about the shiny silver flecks and how do I set the specular, large/small?

Also any thoughts on adding glow or incandescence?

head over to highend3d and have a look at some of there shaders to dl...

there is a car paint shader there that has silver flakes, and a shader that does blurred reflections, dl them both and see how thay work or adapt them
