View Full Version : Is AM 10 any better than AM 9?

AM is giving me all kinds of trouble tonight. Damn! It keeps crashing! Like every few minutes. I guess I'll have to reinstall or something.

I guess version 9 has that repuation. So like the subject line asks: is 10 any better or am I doomed to never finish my project?

Much, much better. You may still need to do some things on your end to ward off the crashes, but overall, pound for pound, 10 is much better than 9.

10.x still crashes more than most apps, but it's VASTLY improved over 9.x. 9.x was practically unusable, imo. I recently upgraded to 10.x, and I've been happy thus far (comparatively speaking;)). Hopefully with A:M 2004 Hash will increase stability even further.

So, bottom line: it looks like 10 is worth the hunnerd dollahs. Now if only I can get outta debt. :(

A while back hash had a "call Steve and convince him you got screwed with am9 and he'll send you a free upgrade" thing going, I dunno if it's still open, but you might want to ask, sounds like you'd be a prime candidate.

So far 10.5 is working good for me! But other people are having some problems. There is a thread on 10.5e crashing. Take a look at that to.

I prefer 10.0n.
The most stable version since 8.5p++.
Just my experience...

Hm, thanks, that's the info I was looking for, but damn, the Hah FTP doesn't contain the 10.0n file, I remember they used to archive all the iterations (Or maybe I imagined it because I did...)

Can anyone put it up for download somewhere? ^_^

Uploading now, should be ready for DL in a few min.

http://demented3d.com/am2003.exe

Please shoot me an email once you've got it so I can delete it, thanks =)

You should also give v10.5 a spin, I absolutely LOVE the new Dynamic Constraints!

I am, but I'd rather have a stable iteration and lose a couple of bells and whistles

Tried your link, but it ways "action not allowed", I tried to type in the url instead (that sometimes avoids hotlink protection, if that's what it is...) but no joy.

ok try

http://demented3d.com/am2003.zip

It's not a real zip, its just been renamed. rename it back to am2003.exe and run that.

Hmm... "source file could not be read" after a few minutes of download.

...Don't worry about it, it's the thought that counts, and I was just being a packrat anyway.

SURELY hash will produce another moderately stable version before the end of the year. If they don't I'll hit you again for that 10.0n file :)
