Hi, I'm trying to generate sculptures by 3D scanning life models & want to output them using 3D printing or CNC carving, for which I need very clean STL un-holey meshes. I have created a primitive scanning setup using digital cameras a slide projector and Photomodeler softwear which can scan smallish areas upto 50 cm by 50 cm .. using a dot referencing function I can closely align all these meshes to create a full body of overlapping meshes in 3DMax. But I can't find an easy way to merge these meshes so that there is no obvious join and minimal loss in detail. Email me at santoshyes@hotmail.com and I shall forward you an example .. in this example there are two overlapping meshes, look closely and you will see that mesh 2 is slighly raised above mesh 1 ( because of breathing between scans ) .. how to snap them seemlessly together so that melt and merge with each other? regard Santa
