Hi all,

Is there any window to open UV editor so I can unwrap an object and work on the UV 2 dimentionally in Cinema 4D 8.1? I'm confused not to be able to work on my UV "normally"

Thanks...

do you have the bodypaint module?, if not I don't think UVs can be edited like that

alternatively, if you don't have the BP module you can physically unwrap your mesh (this is somewhat time consuming for high density models), flat project a texture and generate UVs based on that projection.

Check out the UV2BMP plugin: http://www.r-j.de/c4d/uv.htm

Unfortunatly there is no build in UV editor in C4D.
If you don't want to spend the money on Bodypaint
than there is a very nice shareware called
Ultimate Unwrap 3D. It costs about 30$ and I can
highly recommend it.

Intrepid users might want to also see if they can hunt down LithUnwrap, which is essentially a free, early version of Ultimate Unwrap3D. I have it and it's more than capable. It might be hard to find, as UU3D took its place.

Here's an example of LithUnwrap with one of DeepUV's example models.

Not a bad option when you consider the higher priced alternatives. Great for those with no cash.

:bounce: I want to thank you guys for your replies for hit helped me with my experiments with Q3A models, I am a veteran Total Annihilation designer which is a RTS game with 3D models with Quad faces, when I was trying to make a new model for Quake, I saw I had to make a skin for it which couldn't be done easilly without a unwrapping tool...

I thank you, I had to do something I absolutely HATE to even get on this forum, but it was worth it, because I got to thank you...

best regards...

P.S. You probably haven't seen the last of me! *evil laugh*:buttrock:
