Just wondering if anyone knows how to refresh the material editor or 3ds max itself. I have a model and currently texturing it. For the diffuse slot, I usually drop in a .psd... so when i save my texture map in photoshop, the viewports would update automatically in Max.

For some reason I can't get it to work anymore (after installing windows 7 64-bit, but not sure if thats the case). To update the .psd in the diffuse slot, I'd have to open up material editor and click on it or sometimes the reload button which is time consuming. Why won't the viewport update the texture automatically anymore? it also doesn't update .tga, .jpgs right away either..

Anyone know of a solution? could it be a vid card issue? I already browsed around the property settings and don't see anything. I'm using Max 2009.

Thanks.

We discussed this recently in the Max section. Maybe something in here might help you?
