hi,

I use the vortex field to make a fx, like this link.

It's hard to keep its shape in FFX, and I try to close the border with X and Z axis, still look werid.

Can someone help me, please?

i guess you could use a cylinder as a deflctor, to keep the flames within.
Perhaps with a animated noise mod on the cylinder, to avoid the flames to conform too much to the shape.

This is a great example of a case where particles should be used. Try to make a pflow system where particles do exactly what you want them to do. Then add fumeFX to that system. You can find tutorials (and help files) on using pflow and fume together.

As a general rule for my own work, more particles with a smaller fume radius look and work better.

-Best,
John
