why doesn't the xform return me the realw wordlspace value? if i use that with another object like a sphere it works.... what's wrong? also if i use the xform for set value on worldspace it will put the value on normal space....really ...what s wrong?

Since you have frozen the transforms of the object, it returns 0 0 0. Its center of transformation has been reset to its pivot point.

yes but i'm asking maya the world coordinates of the object non the value of trasform in which is know ... so how can i fix that? how can i have the real world space transform of it? i tried to find the pivot position it forks but after that if i use the xform for put this value it wull move the pivot (like expected ) and not the object ,

geez! i just did a fast test with a frozen trasformation sphere , it's exactly like u said... is there a way for obtain the real WS pposition?

Hi giordi,
My first thought would be to create a default null (group), parent the object to the null and grab the transform values to give you the offset from the origin (or its worldSpace co-ordinates).
*EDIT*
That doesn't work. You could point constrain a null to the object, and grab those values instead. Not the cleanest of solutions.
There must be a way to do this via MEL. :curious:

Use world space transform + rotate pivot, in some cases you have to count rotate pivot translate(if you move pivot after rotating obj) search in maya forums @ world space coordinates, there r few theads
