Hi.

I am trying to decide if I should jump into Modo or not. I tried the 12 days trial(but wasted a lot of that time while I was away. So I never hade time to to exporting from Modo to Maya and see how that works out. Can you give me some honest input about what possible pitfalls there is when trying to model i Modo and exporting to Maya to rigging and animation?

Borders to the famous "9, rule", but I would love to hear why you swapped over to Modo of course.

I haven't exported animation and stuff from Modo, but I did with meshes, textures nad UV's. Works just fine.. not always without any problems, but ok.
Btw, with Maya it's 1:1 scale.

Although I have never used and never intend to use Maya. I have found exporting models to other 3D programs such as Cinema 4D is very easy and efficient. Therefore, I would have thought the same applies to Maya too, as Maya has far better import options than C4D from what I have heard at least.

As far as modelling is concerned, Modo is easily one of the best modelling packages anywhere right now and a pleasure to work with. Fully recommended. Check out some of the free tutorials on the Luxology site if you want to know more. Once I tried it I was instantly addicted as I was so impressed with the different modelling tools.
