View Full Version : problem adding modifier before physique
max_5 08-24-2003, 05:53 AM I have finnished an animation of a character using character studio 4, the only modifier before physique is edit mesh.
What I want to do is add a UVW map and noise modifier to my character before the physique modifier so that they follow the character's animation.
My problem is that if I go to the modifier before physique (edit mesh) then my mesh dissapears. If I add any modifier before physique then it does nothing, since there is no mesh there.
Is this a bug?

did you try adding the modifier on top of the stack and after that moving it to the desired position?

Thanks for the reply El_Schubi
I have tried doing that but it still does nothing since there seems to be no mesh information before the physique modifier.

on discreets's page they talk about the texture problem. i don't know if your "vanishing mesh" is "usual", so...
but on http://www.discreet.com/support/max/faq/answer.php3?prod=dddstudio&id=584 you'll find a way to correct your stack (i suggest you've to follow the procedure for max4). i hope this will help you and you don't have a corrupt maxfile.

Thanks for trying but I still get the same problem, it looks like I will have to save the biped and animation, and re-apply them to a finished mesh.
