I've been tryingg and trying with pyrocluster to get decent cloud results. Not exactally photorealistic, more along the lines of fluffy cotton balls floating in the sky with scerine lighting. I'm not having very good luck, anyone have any crits or comments to help me out?

Here's a couple of tests I did...

i think, your first and second attempt to the fluffy cotton-ball clouds look pretty good concerning the shape. i would just increase the luminance and bring the colors to a more pastell-look to fit the bright sunlight

Hi,
have a look at my website Bonkers (http://www.bonkers.de)
in the TP area you will find an example from Wahn Reymer showing how to create one by using a simple polygon object and TP/PC
Hope this helps
