Nice work!

Their Famous Monster kits had the most kick-a$$ box art.

You've done a great job capturing the feel.

Gonna map/render something with it?

Cheers,

This is great work. I think you really nailed the style. If anyone wants some background on these kits go here http://www.scalemodelindex.com/supplies-r.htm

Your server must have pulled them for some reason... I would ask them what's up.

However, I did find copies in my local cache, so I'll post them (for now).

Cheers,

Brittnell

Don't trip...

It looks like it was moved to the 2D section here: Gallery/Finished Work: 2D & Maquettes (http://www.cgtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=30) (look up at the top of the page).

Here is a direct link to this forum: Gallery/Finished Work: 2D & Maquettes (direct) (http://www.cgtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=111)

Seems right, since your piece is "Finished 2D Work".

Oh, and you're welcome for me hosting you pictures...

Wow, nice colour...
Is it inspired by sakura wars?

the design is from ma.k (maschinen krieger) by kow yokoyama , he creates some mobile suit in the early 80 called sf3d .he influences a lot of peoples shirow ect... check his site http://www.kkuda.co.jp/kow/index.html .
the colors reference to aurora model kit art box.
particulary to James Bama who did the famous monster box and a lot of illustration for books cover (doc savage).

The mobile suit design kind of reminds me of Dorvack as well.

Takes me back to my youth, when I used to beg my mom to drive me 90 miles to the nearest store that sold Gundam models...

Here is some more really inspirational artwork as well for anyone into this sort of thing -Makoto Kobayashi (http://aswars.tripod.com/theartofmakotokobayashi/index.html)

I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Cheers,

Brittnell

Ps. Love that sky color!
