So I thought I'd share this- My Professor shared this with us in class:
Win7 Home or Prof for 29.99 through Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/student/en/us/software/windows-7.aspx) for students- that link leads you to the more direct link where you and learn and buy HERE (http://windows7.digitalriver.com/store/mswpus/en_US/DisplayHomePage?resid=SzI8igoBAkcAAClCoF4AAAAQ&rests=1261583498059).
You have to register using a school email or verify with your class schedule then they send an email with purchasing options (Pro/Home, 64/32). Just thought I'd share this.

O and one more detail- you must have a valid copy of XP or VISTA which this copy of 7 will completely replace- in otherwords, you can no longer use the previous. This offer is also good for foreign students.

That's a pretty good deal for those that can take advantage of it.

Thanks for sharing!

PS- through the above websites it offers links to resellers which were onthehub and Journeyed- well I ended up ordering through onthehub.com because for an extra $8 you get a physical copy- they also had Ultimate for like $80.

Thanx Szos.

I ended up placing my order through DigitalRiver- (direct through M$ link above) and it was 29.99 for Pro 64 bit plus 13 for the disk. the other site didn't offer it to my school.
