Hi all!

Ok ill try to keep this short as possible i do have a lot to say.

I am an offline editor. I have been working on tv commercials, editing for the past 4 years.

After watching James Cameron's Avatar I was reminded of the time when I was young and full of imagination and why I got into the creative industry in the 1st place. Along my formative years I must have got losted and ended up going into film making just because it sounded a lot easier then animation. A mistake I feel I am paying the price for now as I feel I have lost so many valuable years to develop those specific skills. Now, I know compositing and would say that I would most likely excel in visual effects compositing rather then the more artistic form of animation & traditional drawing.

I was also very inspired by the recent work of Fede Alvarez http://www.youtube.com/user/fedalvar who sold his 5 minutes short for 30 mil to hollywood. District 9 also inspires me. Avatar no doubt.

Emotional story aside what would it take for me to be a visual effects director or story teller. I would like to rather have a birds eye view of Visual Effects production so that I ccan per-sue a career in either production or directing of Visual effect movies. My question would be how do I go about to achieve this?

Please help me b4 my mind drives me to insanity with this questions.

Well still no reply I really don't mind if you have nothing to say other then what you think about the post or situation I'm in. I am starting to feel that alot of confusion comes from wanting my dream to become my career that can support me in future that I forgot to take it as a hobby or self fullfilment thing. To just let loose and not attach to much expectations to it. Rather just go with the flow and learn to have fun with it.
