I have recently finished a rig, then I noticed this issue. When I move my foot control which has an IK to the leg joint. It seems to go crazy, Im at a loss with this problem.

PLEASE check out this video where the problem is displayed.

Are you talking about the knee flipping when you bring the foot forward? If thats the case you need a poleVector to fix that.

I do have a pole vector, Im sure its to do with the hip joint.

It's your pole vector, you're moving the knee past the pole vector and it's trying to keep the knee pointing at it, you have to animate the pole vector as well. Some prefer that to be parented to the foot control or to the hip joint, some prefer not to see it at all and use a virtual slider to control where the knee points, some like space switching applied to it. But in your case, it looks like it's just under the "world" and doesn't move when you move the foot control, which is fine, but then you have to animate the pole vector so it remains in front of the knee in the direction you'd like the knee to be pointing. If you're looking for a no-flip solution, do a google search for that and you'll find a plethora if info on it. Hope that made sense.

you may want to take a look at the following

http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=88&t=821554&highlight=leg

there are some samples of legs so you can see what is going on with the leg setup.

One thing that I typically will do is parent my pole vector control under my toe control. Just be sure that you have not locked the translation of the pole vector control.
