CGTalk - Combining 2 edges

This is probably a really simple question so sorry if it is. I am using 3ds max and have 2 edges, which I have connected to create another edge perpendicular to these. I've then removed this edge (what I wanted to do wasn't working) but now the original edges i selected to connect are split into 2 sides:

Is it possible combine these back to one continuous edge?

Have you any screenshots bigger than the screen of a 5 year old mobile phone? :)

When you remove an edge hit CTRL+backspace and that will remove any rogue verts. Or just select the vert that splits the edge and hit backspace. Or target weld the vert.........
