It's is not the first time that happen to me... and I just can't recall how I solved this problem before.
I 've got the same result with the Edge Slice tool and if I turn the Advanced OpenGl mode on, the polygon affected is completely black.

Have you ever encountered this problem?

thank you for help

I use loop slice all the time, and I've never had this problem; but I haven't working with modo for that long either.

Could you describe what's going on in the mesh, as in tells us more about which polygons are connected to which, if there are n-gons, double-layered polygons, polygon count, etc. I would be willing to recreate your mesh if you give me the steps of what you did so we can determine if it only happens to you.

Also what OS are you running on and version of modo, because if you have an old version of modo, an update might fix it.

If you have any screen recording software, make a video of it, and if we can't figure it out here, make a bug report and send it to luxology if you're really sure it's a glitch.

I think it is some extra normal or vertex map on your model. It happens to me every now and again. Go into the list menu and open the Other Maps list. If you see any maps in there right click on it to delete it. Your normals should start behaving as you'd expect again.

Yes ! Lots of thanks to you ! It was a Surface Normal map... maybe created by one of my compulsive keyboard shortcut ...

Thanks again, and merry Christmas ! :buttrock:
