Hello after a first post asking about which GPU would be the best to choose I have ssen loads of benchs on the internet.
I want to do highrez poly sculpt in Blender so I would like a high FPS rate in the viewports.
I will use Ubuntu.
I plan to use Blender in a living purpose.
I have seen loads of pages about that topic, here are some (but nut up to date) for those who are interested :

Is it not possible to make a sticky-post about relevant benchmarks about graphic cards?
Just to have somewhere that Blender users can post there system configuration and their scores according the benchmark.blend (as there is already a place for only redering benchs).

I think that knowing what hardware is good for Blender (not specially expensive) is very important for those who want to practice Blender at an upper and more optimized level.

I am as well intimately convinced that it would be some kind of a good promotional argue for Blender since, as far as I have seen, gaming cards work better with Blender on Linuxn systems that pro cards (quadro, firepro).

If some people would post some benchmarks here I would be pleased to look at them.

render : 18.37 sec

Spin wireframe view, subsurf monkey, 4 subsurf levels : 89.1552 fps
Spin solid view, subsurf monkey, 4 subsurf levels : 43.6265 fps
Spin solid view, 1000 monkes : 8.4315 fps
Spin wire view, 1000 monkes : 23.8166 fps
OpenGL image load & free, 256x256 px : 669.3430 fps
OpenGL image load & free, 512x512 px : 131.4837 fps
OpenGL image load & free, 1024x1024 px : 33.8344 fps
OpenGL image load & free, 2048x2048 px : 8.4547 fps
Raytracing with AO and area light, 8 threads : 13.43 sec
Shadowbuffer light, 4 threads : 23.32 sec

All this benchmarking is well-appreciated.

But you will need to benchmark Blender in more "meaningful" context...
Of course using Shadow Buffers, Suzanne at SS4 is going to yield 18 second renders.

I think people would be more interested in benchmarks about performances with RayTracing, Transparency/Translucency, Refractions, Geometry.... Models with 6,000 polygons.

He's talking about GPU performance not CPU render times.

Yes I am more looking for a Benchmark revealing how GPUs behave on Blender rather CPUs since there is already a good updated CPU bench here : http://eofw.org/bench/.
I think that artists must be interested in knowing what cards give a good comfort in term of working in the 3D view.
Hopefully if Durian staff's members make a new thread as they did on the BBB blog it would be very nice and more successful than my humble try :). I don't know if they plan to talk about their machines or not, maybe I should have a look on the blog to look for a way to ask them...

eofw.org is the blender benchmarking site, currently for cpu render time comparisons. Perhaps you could contact them with details of what you want to be measured and how, and they could establish another benchmark.
