View Full Version : Shaded view very Slow?
speedsix 08-22-2003, 10:11 PM When I turn on Shading in the view menu the framerate is very choppy when I move the camera. Everything else is smooth, is this hardware rendered, OpenGL maybe?
I have an XP2000+ 256mb (soon to be upgraded) and a Radeon 32Mb ddr with the default XP drivers.
I don;t underd=stand why a simple shaded view would be so slow, are my drivers the problem?
Thanks
Dom

It could be the drivers, but most likely it's just the graphics card in general.
Maya needs a fairly good professional level graphics card to run well. On the Alias website there's a list of "Maya Certified" graphics cards.
By professional level I mean cards like Quadros etc
Here's the link to the list on the Alias site:

sussed it out, the standard XP Radeon drivers don't support OpenGL, got the new ones and everything is smooth as butter :buttrock:
