I was just about the mention the dread P word :p I guess the image is okay. The character does look very poserish/out of the box and the wolf is like a toy dog. BUt I'm guessing the focus of the image is the mood

so here:

the fog is too patchy

the moon shouldn't be out of focus like that

and do compose the shot so it doesn't just have the character smack in the middle like that. It looks unbalanced/poor.

Hmmm... overall the image is ok, but the character is pretty unrealistic. She isn't really wearing any armor, the weapons aren't viking, and she has almost no muscles...

Anyway, you might want to work on her pose too. The spear/bow holding doesn't look right to me.

Muscles are to small and the fact that shes wearing a mini skirt and no armor bother me, a Viking Warrior would be wearing chain mail with a much bigger bow, some form of fur cloak and not a belt that looks like you got it at a suit store. The historic value of this is what I really dont like.

she doesn't seem to be wearing ANY viking or norse attire, as well as her hands arn't even gripping the objects she's supposed to be holding.

Ok thanks to all for your comment !

You should know that I preferred to privilege the mood before the realism.
Concerning the moon, this effect was wanted, I wanted a kind a light flow from the moon to have a kind of mystic atmosphere and I wanted it more as a light source that a "simple moon".

About the wolf, think you're right, it looks like a happy pet dog, not a savage wolf.

About the woman... not muscle enough ??? :surprised: God, it's a woman ! I don't immagined her like a litterally warrior, more like a divinity, woman who during her life fought very well, died with wolf close to her in forrest, she appear the night in the moonlight accompanying wolves... That's why I preferred a body better to watch
About what she's wearing... ah ah... I don't found some great pics of woman viking clothes for references... just some peons robes... well, women use not to be warriors... And wearing her with a lot of armors would prevent to see the rest of hers body  LOL... I know that it's paradoxal, the atmosphere is very cold and she's wearing a mini skirt, half nude... I just preferred mood and impression rather than realism.

Thanks for your good comments about the composition !

Ok, I was pretty much expecting that... It's not uncommon to make a picture of a scantily clad female warrior holding two large weapons, but because the title and implied viking origins, I think people expected more realism.

But about her body, how would she have become a great warrior and gotten into Valhalla without physical strength?

By the way, what applications did you use to make it?

lol, the paradoxal thing that make the pic better in my eyes... Just a question of style, not so realism... I guess everybody like realism and coherence, but i preffer the global visual attraction...

By the way, what applications did you use to make it?

I used Blender and The Gimp.

dude.. what did you do? Did you add that smoke in front of her face to simulate a cold night. It looks hilarious. You could lose one of the weapon (maybe have her right hand casting a spell)

The thing is, that Vikings were not people to show off there body's, They were brutal, and a woman who would be a "sheildmaden" style warrior would be just as big and brute as a man. Thats what those men thought was attractive... so if u just lost the "viking" part and called her "scantly clad forest ghost woman" it wouldn't bother me in the likes (i also most likely would have NOt clicked here either.)
