View Full Version : male character
seb4d 08-22-2003, 03:45 PM Hi everybody !
I started texturing my male character. It's my first attempt at making a realistic human so please advise me to enhance my work.
For the moment there is only a phong shader with only one map for the diffuse canal, no bump and no specular maps.
Cheers !

For a first attempt, it looks really, really good... A bit hard to tell from the angle you show.
What do you use for reference? Body photos of your self?
The hard part is probubly to get a good skin shader setup.
Keep up...

Thanks !
It's my first attempt at making a realistic human, but it's not the first time I make a human character.
I actually used drawings from a book about classical drawing for my references, not real photos.
I would need a piece of advice about how to make a good skin shader.
hey what did you use for your actual skin shader was it a photo or was it painted by hand in photo shop or wasi ti a combination of both

I painted the diffuse map in photoshop exclusively. But it's not finished yet, still lots of details to add.

looks pretty good but we'd like to see different angles. Also show us a wire. The angle you ive us isn't ideal to judge the quality of the model :D
Echo :"That Avatar was my desktop picture for a year and a half!!!!"
