Two video cards are useless for Max (unless you work on 3 or 4 displays).
And Max is DX optimized, thus will play very nicely with a geforce 260, 275 or 285 card.

thanks Vlad,
i think i will customize the WS with one Graphics Card though ... but i've another question then, if the WS has 2 processors ... is it ok, or also will not work for max ??!!

thanks in advance

Max (like practicaly all 3D apps) supports multiple processors and cores just fine.

Some applications will benefit from SLI cards, especially those which support nVidia Cuda or Ati Stream. I don´t know about plugins like Rayfire, maybe those will benefit from SLI, but MAX and other 3D apps most actually wont. 3D Coat uses Cuda as well, maybe it will benefit from SLI?
