View Full Version : Vehicle : Kenworth K5 (or maybe a free interpretation of that)
ReSeT 08-22-2003, 08:15 AM Hi everybody!
This is my first post in here and I would like to say hello and give my standing ovations to everyone's great work that i've seen by reading the forum for a few weeks.
Excuse my very bad english, im still learning.
Now it's time to show my work.
The following work has been modelled with Blender 2.26, for rendering I took PovRay 3.5 (IMHO this is the very best renderer in town :D)

I'm very curious about your comments.
(Don't be so hard, I'm still a beginner and this is my very first Kenworth since the beginning in March of this year ;) )
There is still lot of work to do.

I think it's major cool! somethings a bit off about the color but it's awesome specially taking into consideration it was done in blender i can't work that program for the life of me... then again I didn't try to hard... hehe.

It looks pretty good, but there are a few things you could do to improve it. First off it's a little to shiny, right now it looks a little more like a plastic model. You should try to dirty it up. That should give it a more realistic look. The windows could use some work as well, they look like they need to be pushed into the metal more, instead of just sitting on the same level of it (don't know if that made any sense). Oh and this is just because of the angle, but right now it looks like there is nothing under the diesel, like the engine and such, so we can see right to the other side, which is kinda weird.
Keep it up,

Looks pretty good, but I think the reflectivity needs to be turned down, in some spots it makes certain objects look too fake, or even transparent (???!) anywho.... good modeling, and render, just work on the materials...
Cheers,

THX for your replys.
You should try to dirty it up
At this moment I'm trying to tell PovRay to make those dirty materials, but I see that's a hard job and will take some time.
So, for the moment I have to live with those plastic like things.
but right now it looks like there is nothing under the diesel
O.K. you got it, actually it doesn't only look like. There is nothing. But my hands are right on my mouse and my keyboard to fix that problem. You can't imagine how long it takes to model a realistic Kenworth engine....
just work on the materials...
Sometimes they make me really sick, because in reality it all looks so easy, but when you get into the stuff it really hurts.
