Hello everyone, I'm just getting into 3d modelling so I figured I would create an account here. I'm sure Ill be dealing with you all alot more in the future :).

Anyway, I seem to be having alot of trouble with UV maps in Autodesk Maya 2008. I created a low poly model of a man, and I have it rigged with a skeleton with a running animation. What I'm trying to do, is export the model and a UV map seperately, so the UV Map can be painted and applied in a game I'm working on. I layed out the default UV map, which was perfect, except for a problem with some of the faces. A number of faces got mapped out as lines instead of polygons, so they could not be painted on. I attempted to use automatic mapping, but the UV's changed with every frame of animation. This wont work, since I need 1 single UV map for the animation.

So I'm wondering, how can I make a good map of all the polygons in my model laid out seperately, and have it applied to every frame of my skeleton animation?

Thanks!
