I want to use a webcam to put real time video as a camera back plate or as texture in MB. Does anybody know how to do this? Not a Quicktime or AVI.....but real time video.

Autodesk is getting back to me about a special version of MB to do this. I'm told that it can be done.

Anybody got some ideas???

Hi cowboy1,

real time video can be done through shader or manipulator plugin using OR SDK and directx web camera access. Just draw background overlay with a webcam frame.

Appreciate your help. could you explain that a bit further? Can the webcam be a simple hook up like mine.......UBS to my computer. I have tried to activate it as a "device" within MB.....but MB will not accept it.

When you say "background overlay"....do mean as a "back plate" within the camera menu????

Again...it "seems" getting live video feed into MB should be easy....Autodesk is getting back to me about it.....but I feel their solution will cost a lot of money.....and I think its something easy.

Do you know of an existing plugin that will solve this?

thanks
