I went through the max tutorials and the index of the 3D Studio Max Bible and didn't see anything about Physique or Biped does anyone know where I can find one?

Check that site out. You have to pay a fee to download the video tutorials but they don't have audio so for some they might lack.

There are however several written tutorials about biped and physique on the site that you do not have to pay for.
