Hi all

Before I start, yes, I have tried to find an answer but I haven't found one which is why I am asking here. I am relatively new to Softimage but not 3D, but I still cannot seem to find a fix to the problem I am having.

Please have a look at the image attached. The bit that I cannot resolve is the jagged edges on the shadows and other edges. I have tried tinkering with the antialiasing settings but I still cannot seem to get rid of the problem.

It is probably really easy for more experience users to tell me what button to push.

Please help :-)

First thing to try is the Min / Max level of the Aliasing. Usually I set to 0 and 2. Then the sampling contrast can be turned down to 0.1 in RGBA. Also, what image format are you rendering to? I usually render to PNGs.

Gee fanx Eric these settings done the trick. I don't know why they aren't the defaults…

Here's what it looks like now rendered as a *.JPG BTW.

Now I gotta learn how to make the cactus look like a cactus and the sand look like sand - but not too realistic though…
