Hello. I am working on a creature for school that has a few spider-like limbs on it. I need help setting up the joints and IKs properly. Here are a few pictures of what I am working with:

So here is what I need to accomplish. Since all of the joints are mechanical, they can only rotate in 1 direction. Joint 1 needs to rotate along the Y-axis, while joints 2-4 need to rotate around the Z-axis. I would like joint 5 to stay parallel to the ground at all times if this is possible. I would like to be able to just have one handle to move to control the limb.

I am somewhat new to rigging, so if you have suggestions to change the skeleton, please let me know; however, at this point in the project I can't really change the model.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Look up Maya's Spring IK solver, this could work for you.
