View Full Version : Good tutorials on texturing? Shader anyone?
superb0y 08-22-2003, 01:03 AM I am new at this...post the message on thread. Please bear with me. I am very familiar with modeling and animation. Now I want to learn more about Maya and it is to how to texturing in Maya. Are there any good websites that have good tutorial on texturing? The one that is easy to understand. Plus I was wondering how can I import the shaders into maya hypershade? For example. If I go on this website Highend3d (http://www.highend3d.com/maya/shaders/) and pick out some cool shaders that I want to use. How can I accomplish by using those shader to apply on my model? I have seen some shaders that would look perfect on my model. Thanks everyone.

for importing shaders ...
when I installed the shader library (on the maya install cds), I created a custom directory for shaders (not on c:\). Now whenever I download a shader from highend3d, i just create a directory name for the shader inside my maya shaders directory and unzp the contents into it.
when in maya, open the hypershade, and in the workspace, click the shader library tab. you should see a directory listing where your shader library is. find the directory and shader you want, then right clikc on it and 'import' into your project (the shader will appear as one of the available swathes above).
