how could i make some erotion to my model, with bump or displace, or booleans?

how could i make the surface look with some dust over it?

thanks in advance for your suggestions

I think the simpaint plug in for max has a type of dust material you could apply by using a blen texture. It's not really great but a lot of the shadders render quickly.

I think that the best choice is a displacement map. Don't forget to add a Displacement Approximation modifier to the mesh to get complex it so the displacement works fine.
In addition, you can control better the mapping with the same bitmap that u used for displacement. Blending it with textures you can get very incredible results. You can work in a bump map separately to add more complexity.

Keep us updated with your work.

I think that procedural shaders like simbiont are great, but in this case, a texture created for you can work better, because you can adapt the logo's shape to the rusty and worn areas of the stone.

Hope it helps!

With a render like Brazil or vRay this would be a breeze.
With vRay you can use the microtriangulation feature to make a very nice displacement.
With Brazil you can use the "sheen" in their velvet shader to make things look dusty.
You can download a free demo of Vray in their website.
