Hi all

i've just started "playing" with free version of cinema4D R.8,
any help with the following i'd much appreciate:

1. Is there a feature like "AutoGrid" of 3dsmax? I mean
aligning an object or spline to another's polygons at creation time.

2. Is it possible to create a 3d spline by snapping to vertices of
other objects? again, i mean snapping at creation time, like max.

3. The Point-snap-3d option seems to use the object's pivot point!
So for example if i want to make 2 cubes touch at one point, i must first position the first cube's pivot to one of its vertices, and then do the snapping. Is there a quicker way?

4. Can we have renderable splines in C4D?

No.

Yes, just turn on 3D snapping and check "Point".

Unfortunately no, which sucks. But there is a plugin called powerAxis that makes it very quick and easy to move the axis to a selected point, edge or face. http://www.astrofish.com

Alas, another plugin is required. This time it's SolidSplines Pro: http://www.tools4d.com/

Thanks for all the info, although they are $-plugins.

well if ya drop 1700 on the Xl bundle I think an extra 40 or so isn't really gonna eat you alive.

Does Solid Spline Pro work with C4D 6.3 ?
