Now that Adobe has released its latest version of After Effects, will Maxon update the after effects plugin so that files can be opened in the new version?

Hi,
the Plugin for 5.5 should work fine with AE 6.0.

I haven't had any problems as of yet, will post if any are found. AE6 rocks !!!

If .aep is after effects extension. Why does C4D make .aec extensions?

....maybe I should rtfm... both fm's = )

edit] - my bad I used the .mov file instead of the .aec and not having any luck with it.

Thanx pit already had that, problem arose from copying the ae plug with folder to ae's plug-ins, once I placed it by itself all works fine. so yes the AE 5.5 CINEMA 4D XL Composition Import plug IS working with AE6.
