Hi guys!
How do I scatter an object randomly on a surface? I want to do multiple lightbulbs on a cable without copying and pasting every bulb seperatly.

Thanx!

in modeler or layout? In modeler you can use point clone plus, in layout you can clone objects to points or particles with node item motion. There is also many free plugins that give more options if you check flay.com and search clone...

Wow! Fast reply :-) I will check out those at Flay. Pretty much to choose from. It really doesnīt matter if I do it in modeller or layout. You got any specific plugs to recommend?

Dpont's node displacement is fantastic for cloning in Layout, with the advantage that if you animate or update the cable object, the layout clones will follow along automatically.

http://pagesperso-orange.fr/dpont/plugins/nodes/nodes/Node_Editors.html#NodeItMot

Basically, you apply the node motion modifier to a single copy, then use the item info node to select the object you want to attach to. Then you clone the object/light/whatever and it will create a clone at each point of the reference object.
