hi, i'm new in max.
i've search the forum for similar problem but i couldn't find the solution.
so i hope that some people will help me solve this problem.

here's the problem: i wanted to make a scene where there's curtains being swayed/blown by wind. and i was thinking that using reactor is the best way, but i can't seem to make it work. :)

first i add cloth modifier to the curtains (the curtains themselves are planes).
then i add all the curtains to cloth collection.
then i attached one end of the curtain to a rigid body.
and positioned the wind outside the window.
when i ran the preview, nothing happen, it's like the curtain became a rigid body or something.
when i didn't attached the curtain to the rigid body, the wind blew the curtain off.

what's wrong with it ? am i not supposed to attached the curtains to the rigid body ? or is there some other tricks to it ?

thank you in advance.

Have you made sure that you can get the cloth to work without the wind? for example move the rigid body around and check if the cloth is responding properly. Also, what is your attachment method? LinkedXForm? It may be making it rigid depending on your stack order, so thats why I suggest you remove the wind to test if it is the linking that is 'fubaring the whole system.

Use Simcloth plugin it's free and easy to use.

thanks for the reply.

i will try moving the rigid body around.
i use "reactor attach to rigid body" to attach the cloth.
am i not supposed to use this ?
what method of attachment should i use ?

zarkos: i'm not sure whether i can use simcloth or not, since i'm using school's computer and have very limited access. (i can't even access drive c) :(
