I did all the 3D for this commercial. My friend Patrick Boivin did the rest (directing, shooting and compositing).

I designed and created a high security lab door, robots arm and set extension and reproduced a highly detailed BMX. I used 3dsMax, a bit of XSI (just for better beveling on the robot arms) and Mental Ray.

Awesome and truly inspiring work. I only have one question. Why is Tony Hawk selling bikes?

Why he sells bikes? Well I think because he is cool and he likes bikes! Do you know Tim Horton? He was a hockey player and he sells doughnuts. Life is short so when you can do what you like do it NOW! But if you like doughnuts don't eat them too much cause life will be even shorter! :D

Seriously BMX and skateboards are very closely related. The X-Games, where Tony made his name with the 900, feature BMX motocross, skateboard etc. And Tony started himself the Boom Boom HuckJam (http://www.boomboomhuckjam.com/) since 2002 also featuring motorcross, skateboarding and BMX. Also he likes kids and he is doing a lot for them (http://www.tonyhawkfoundation.org/) so naturally he also sells bikes for kids too.

Also I don't know if you noticed but he is the one playing the role of the mad scientist in this commercial and I think he is way cooller than most CEOs playing in their own commercials!!!

Hi.

Ye looks realy nice. What kind of fisheye lens u have? that u took the HDRI with. My self uses a sigma 8mm on a nodal ninja head. Works great but lacking abit in size, Even when im using 5D-markII.

thanx. I have a Sunnex fisheye lens with the sunnex nodal head that allows me to take a 360 with only 2 poses. I have a rebel X1i and I think size is not a problem.

Haha thank you. I really don't understand why someone being known for something should stick only to that and do nothing else! But I guess that's what make the diversity of opinions without which life would be boring...
