nice choice, i've not seen that photo yet, everyone seems to be doing buildings.
there are many higher res pics of that temple using google images:
http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&source=hp&q=mormon+temple+manti&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2&aq=f&oq=&aqi=

the fourth one is pretty high res and there are plenty more. hope that helps.

how are you pulling the windows in?

Looking really good. Are you planning on doing the inside of the window frames?

yea at first i'm thinking of leaving the window frame like that and used alpha at the texture to create the window frames pattern. after a few hours posting my last image, i decided to model it
here's the result. finish it yesterday and didnt have time to post

Yeah I didn't say yesterday but this is the hardcore modeling challenge, alpha maps aren't going to cut it. :D

Windows look great.

He is right you know.
Over here we LOVE dense geometry.

Having said that, good work so far.

I like the photograph you chose , very dramatic.
Solid modeling on the temple, wise choice on modeling the window frame detail, the frames cast a noticeable shadow in two of the center windows.

this is my first challenge in this HMC. i basically focus on modelling the cathedral. i didnt have much time texturing it and lighting it. i only used 3 directional light for the lighting and basic UV unwrapped for the texture and the rest are MIA_Materail_X. render in mental ray and grayscalled in photoshop and used noise for that grainny look.

most of te modelling are done in maya 2008.

kinda didnt make it on the deadline. but ill post anyway. thank for the challenge i learn alot from the challenge.
Good luck on the other competitors
hope i didnt miss anything
regards
