Hello friends,
I am always curious about Blender and the cut tool (k) was an issue for me in the previous versions. The problem was whenever we make a cut across a face, it will make some unwanted cuts on the adjacent faces too. Cleaning up this mess was time eating. So I thought 2.5 will come up with a solution for this. But I wonder, the tool itself disappeared in the new version. Does anybody knows how to add cuts manually in 2.5? I tried pressing 'k' but nothing happened. I wish somebody can help me on this.
Thanks...

The knife tool is still there. You will need to select the edges that you want to cut, then press AND hold the K key down as you drag the mouse across the edges. You will still have to manually clean your mesh as the current alpha version does not yet support Ngons.

Wow that was a great post. But I feel its still inconvenient as we need to keep pressing the 'K'. Hope they will introduce proper solution in the forthcoming versions. Thanks a lot anyway.

Cinema 4D has an option to select "only visible faces" when using the knife tool. Nothing like this for Blender then, so any cut will affect whatever is behind it? Really.

Knife cut only affects selected edges. In the current 2.5 alpha 0 release, knife isn't really in a usable state.
