Hi Chrippe

Thanks....but it didn´t work.... maya tells me that it createt a nurb-surface but I can´t see it.. :D

I tryde in a new scene and then it workt but not in the "real" scene...

i've never had really good luck with using the Planar surface building tool either. I prefer using the boundary surface tool. Its never failed me yet. Very similar to the planar surface tool, except that the curves don't necessarily have to be planar, but they still have to be closed.

Make sure that NURBS surfaces are turned on in the viewports 'Show' menu.

ahh, i see. Well, there is no way in maya to create a nurbs surface with only one curve. You'll need to cut up the curve into 3 or 4 smaller curves, and then use the boundary tool to generate a surface from those new curves. you can cut up your existing curve by selecting it, then in the viewport right click and go to Curve Point. Then place points onto your curve (use the shift button to add more than one). then go to Edit Curves > Detach Curves. you'll now have 3 or 4 new curves you can use to create a boundary surface. I would also suggest rebuilding the new curves so they each have clean UV spans and stuff.

good luck!

Hi again Chrippe..

1. Press F1 go to Using Maya® section (left side)
2. Click Nurbs Modeling
3. Scroll down the left menu and find Creating Surfaces

Lots of information and tutorial there :)

Errrh...I think there's a way :)

1. Create > Nurbs > Circle then Surface > Planar

Note : planar only works on flat surface (based on closed curves)

first one:
create>Nurbs primitives>circle

two: select circle
Surfaces>planar

OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
