I've been working this character on and off between projects... Still far from done, but here she is. C&Cs welcome.

the hair on her concept is great, and isn't waht you've modeled, the hair on the model isn't thick enough nor does it stick far enough out .

but i really do love this idea :D

Woah. I LOVE the shirt that you modelled. What was your technique? Did you copy the upper part of the torso, paste and modify? Also, how did you get the folds? Awesome work. I'm also curious to know why you modelled the entire body and then did the clothes. Couldn't you have just skipped doing the body? I would love to see some close-up shaded wireframe shots!
Thanks for sharing!!!

man coming along really nice to me. The sketch gives a good idea of what you want to reach and so for your getting along very close to your sketch the falloff on the hair material is cool. One question: How long has it been since you last seen a thong on a girl? The backview is ***damn ugly.

Stick with baggy clothes on the pants and jacket.

Whats going on with the knee caps?
Seems as though they have a horizontal seam or wrinkle.

Overall,looking really great!

Thanx for the comments guys, they help...
I tried to fix up the butt and the knees a little. I also made the jeans... I still need to randomize the wrinkles some more but here. The skirt and coat are next...

It's looking nice! However, I'm not sure if it looks like the jeans are sitting on the girls hips. They just look like they're floating up there. Can we see some wireframes? THANKS!

Just an answer for mechis. the jeans don't need to be on the hips. Low rise jeans is the word i think and yes i love that style of pants.

They are just right.

Hey again.

I decided to backtrack a little and show some wires of the body. I looked around, but I don't have any earler files saved... feel free to comment on them since it's alll still a WIP... about the Jeans, yeah they are low rise style. I'll keep working on the clothes as soon as I get a chance.

Well it's been a while but here she is so far... I've textured her from the waist up... nothing final really... C&Cs would definitely help.

The jeans texture looks too smooth for me, as if it has no bump map. The skin looks great, but a little cartoonish, not real (but maybe this is what you want).

Otherwise, really great work, I like it very much.

wow shes hot!! dont like the hair tho, make it longer... and also i agree on the jeans, make them less smooth..

Very Cool Yaotl. I really like the girl's style. Especially the fact that she has all the accessories that you can see on girls normally. Details like that add so much personality to the character.

Perhaps the wrinkles in the jeans could use more definition. They look a bit smooth- like melted wax on a candle. Also, maybe the holes in the jeans could use a little fringe or roughness.

Would you mind showing wires of the clothes? I'm curious to see your topology for wrinkles, holes, folds 'n such.
THANKS!!!

Thanx for the comments... about the jeans, they're not textured yet. I'm working on them and a few other pieces. Here's some wires of the clothing and the hair. Hope they show the topology well enough.

She is looking very cool.

You have brought the concept from the original sketch into the model wonderfuly! Great work!!

Wow!

Hard to critique such good work!

I would suggest increasing the size of the wrist bands. Make them closer in porportion to the colar on her neck. Right now they seem too small.

Other than that, I agree with the others. Great model, hot chick!

Thats frickin' ace!
JUST like the sketch as well - be honest, did you do the sketch after it was modelled? its very rare a modeller stays so faithful to the initial drawing.
Also, how long did this take? were you posting the updates in 'real time' or did you just post the whole finished thing bit by bit.
Love the head. Its a break from the norm. One thing is that the texturing on the clothes is weak compared to the head. Havent you got around to UV'ing them yet?
Excellent stuff - show more renders! high res too!

Coat and texturing are done... I'll now move on to refining the textures some more and then rigging... I'll probably make her backpack too.

Andy H,

Thanx for your comments, dude. I ca asure you that I made the model after the drawing. This model has taken me a while to make (more than two months by now)for the very reason that I wanted to make it exactly like the drawing. Ultimately I want to render the model in the same pose as the drawing...

im interested to know why you twisted the forearms ( there is a twisted formation of the polys, better animation? )

nealb4me,

The forearms are twisted because I originalyl modeled her with her arms up and her palms facing forward. Later into it I lowered the arms and turned the hands to face down. I've seen this used as default pose by others and it does produce better results in animation.
