Hi guys, I finished my private spot for the Audi r8, simply because I love that car - I guess nobody wonders why:D Its all made in 3ds max, rendered with Vray. Its all just complete my work and I did this in my spare time after work, so it is completely not official for Audi.

Hope you like it anyway:)

And a few Stills, runtime is around 4 minutes.

Amazing Work!!!

i am lovin the end part becuase it is an animation i am trying to do, (car racing on mountain road).

please can you let me know what technologies/software you used to make the car drive smoothly and how you went about making the road.

not asking for a tutorial just what techniques you used to get the job done.

nice, some shots are great but i think is way too long.

I think you could cut some scenes , like the shots where the car is coming up, i think it is too long and too much angles of the same thing, but this is just me.

Over all i like it a lot, good work man, congrats.....

hy,

must have been a lot of work for one person. i agree with the others, the degree of realism is not continuous, but some sequences are really nice. i especially like the end bit with the car driving on the road. what resolution did you render at and what was the averege rendertime per frame ? quite an achievment overall ! congrats !

Cool movie man!

It is very funny to see the shot-order is almost the same as for my porsche movie :D :

Ah you are the one who was on frontpage with the porsche i guess some time ago. Your movie inspired me much to do a clip for the audi r8. Nevertheless I think it is a way to present a car or whatever you like in a very suspense way when you rise the product up from the underground, even music artists go that way on stage at concerts from time to time;). In contrast to your movie, I didn't want to show the Audi completely, just the outer shape lines. I watched your commercial again, and yes, there is much more common than I thought haha, I really loved your clip when I saw it that time ago - I guess I remembered it very good:) Thanks for watching:)

oh btw @longrayjohnson:

The resolution is 1680 x 708 which is 21:9 format. Regaring the driving sequence at the end, the average render size was 1,5h to maximum 3h, in sequences with much vegetation. I rendered it with 15 quadcores Q6600 using Vray

Haha that is really cool man! I didn't knew my movie inspired you so much! I feel honored. :applause:

I really like your building up scene were you see the car being constructed, very nicely done. Also some of the driving shots are really cool!

Great work man!

Of course man, that porsche thing was awesome:) Yes, I think there are a few good shots in my spot, but of course it is all not perfect, it is way too much work for one person, starting from the Audi, building the rig, building all robots, building the environment...And then animating and compositing. The motor for example was a very hard scene as it appears in these light beams:) Anyway, I am glad that I finally finished it over a long time now:)
And it is good to know you liked it too, as a car commercial front page expert hehe;)

Erasmus
