Is it possible to color a set of particles by projecting a texture on them, and if so, can the texture be baked in?
I need to blow the particles away and have them keep the texture.

Would it have to be a per-particle, or per-object rgb.

Are you using object as emitter?.

If you are using NURBS as emitter you could inherit texture color into your particle. But if you are using polys then probably you need to create a NURBS proxy of the poly and emit particles from the NURBS, basically it use per particle color attribute, and rely on UV data of the NURBS to get the color.

I guess there is no way for a polygon object to emit textureed particles.

Thanks for the help....
I guess I just have to model a nurbs version.
