So, you're a skilled, creative 3d or 2d artist. You like to play games. You want to make games. Here's your chance. Bright Light Productions is a small group of extremely talented indie game designers, most in or just out of college, who have already completed one published successful commercial game (Journey's End available at CompUSA among other stores), and are now working on a second.
Of course, there are plenty of self-fashioned indie "game development teams" out there, but almost all of them are a bunch of l33t kiddies who haven't the first clue of the rigorous work and technical knowledge that goes into making a competitive game, let alone any actual trade experience in the industry. Frankly, we have little budget, and we can only pay token amounts at major milestones, and then the royalties. We know what we're doing and how to do it, and we're very serious about what we do. BLP consists of an incredible array of talented people, from our brilliant 3 programmers working with an original proprietary next-gen per-pixel-shading 3d engine to our talented musicians who mix like and synthesized music to create stunning dramatic scores. But all the talent in the world doesn't mean crap if the game design itself isn't solid, so in an exasperated nutshell here it is:
Helix Core: The Zendigas Wars
"In short: large-scale multiplayer team space combat with two simultaneous theatres, foot and flight on both land and in space. Be a grunt assaulting the internals of a huge Deathstar-like spacestation on foot, or fly a transport craft to get more soldiers into the enemy base (to raid it). Or be a fighter pilot, a bomber pilot, a turret gunner, a bombadier, or--- oh yes--- pilot one of the huge CAPITAL FLAGSHIP craft that can hold up to 25 personnel (pilot, gunners, energy managers, passengers).
If large-scale strategy is your style, be the team commander and lead your troops and starships to victory via the top-down real-time strategy interface -- purchasing ships, working for resources, and researching new technologies.
All integrated into a massively multiplayer BrightNet server system that represents a dynamic gameworld based on persistent server-recorded player statistics."
The team needs to work with a few more visionary, creative, and enthusiastic 3d artists and 2d texture artists. If you want to embark on an amazing journey with the rest of us, one that will as before be followed through the hard road 'till completion, give me a ring at jeremyst@ufl.edu
At BLP we create realities, make friends, and have fun doing what we like to do best: being creative and making games!! Each day we move closer to completing the game for one of several major interested publishers. The whole realm of professional game development, pc or consoles, is then opened up.
Thanks guys, I hope to hear from some of you uber-creative types soon, and get you set up with our Bravelo "intranet" system of sorts ;-)

P.S. Our in-house engine uses levels and models taken directly from 3dsmax--- lights & material properties and all! So the game is a very natural fit for experienced 3d artists already working in 3dsmax. Note that the "montage"-style image is from an earlier, "test" version of Helix Core running on an archaic engine -- it's been re-envisioned for the new engine.
For you broadband folks, here's a 38mb video of some of our work over the years, all original BLP from the painting to the music & everything:
