View Full Version : curve tool settings gone
jscheel 08-19-2003, 09:10 PM My school recently upgraded to Maya 5.0. When I opened the tool settings for cv curves to set the degree to linear, I got a nasty surprise. The box comes up, and the dropdown menu appers, but when i open the menu. nothing sows up. There are no setting for cv or ep curves! What's going on?:banghead:

Thanks, I didn't even think to do that. I didn't know that your prefs could alter the settings for curve tools.

Spoke too soon! That didn't work afterall. It is a bug in Maya: When you display the tool settings in the main window, everything is fine. Wen you select to display the tool settings in a separate window, they don't work for the curve tools. When I deleted the prefs, it reverted the tools back to the main window, that's why I thought it worked. Contacting Alias about it, though.

Is it happened only for the curve tool, or it also happen with other tools.
If it is only for curve tool try call this function directly from your script editor or command line
EPCurveToolOptions;
If it doesn't open the tool setting then you may have problem with MEL script handling the request.
You might need to reinstall Maya in this case or debug the flow in the script directory.
Use whatIs command to check the mel script container.
